Blitz Tournament (august 28th)

1– As usual there will be a blitz tournament, open to all players having federative licence or not.

2- Sign-up is free. Players must register on toniayza@secretariat.cat, or directly at the arbiters’ table. Deadline: August 28th.

3.- The tournament starts at 10 AM. There will be one only group, playing 11 Swiss rounds with 5 minutes for each player.

4.- The three top players in final standings will receive a trophy. The winners of rating sections (2149-2000; 1999-1850 and 1849-1700), and the best player without federative licence will also receive a trophy.

Simultàneas a l'estació de Sants

Es faràn unes simultàneas en el hall de l'Estació de Sants per a 10 jugadors en dues sessions:a les 11 i les 12 del matí, del dia 26 d'agost. Si estàs interessat a jugar, tens temps d'apuntar-te en la taula arbitral fins al final de la 1ª ronda del dia 20. Inscripció gratuïta.

ESTACIÓ DE SANTS

Bughouse Tournament

This year the tournament will start at 11h on August 24th. The venue will be Guadiana Street, very close to Cotxeres. This street takes part in Sants Local Festivities.

Bughouse tournament is open to all Sants Open participants, as well as any neighbour or chess fan, having a federative licence or not. You can register by e-mail on toniayza@secretariat.cat, indicating the name and rating of both players, or at the playing venue 30 minutes before the start of the competition.

X Indoor football tournament

This competition is open to all participants in Sants Open, whatever their chess clubs. Players from different chess clubs can play in the same football team, which will be constituted by a maximum of 9 players (among them, 5 field-players).

The tournament venue will be La Bordeta Sports Centre, at La Farga Square, very close to Cotxeres. Days of competition will be August 23th, 25th and 27th, from 12 to 14 hours.

The second round of the chess open is the deadline for register at the indoor football tournament. The organisers will inform about pairings and schedule during the third round.

You can register for free but have to announce it at the organisers’ table or by e-mail on toniayza@secretariat.cat

Rules

TROPHIES FOR THE CHAMPION AND RUNNER-UP IN GROUP A AND GROUP B.

1.- The teams for Group A will be constituted by 4 or 5 players belonging to the same chess club; for Group B, 3 or 4 players.

2.- Only the scores of the 4 best players in the team (for Group A) or the 3 best players (for Group B) will count.

3.- In the event of a tie in the final standings of team competition, tie-break systems scheduled for tie-break charts in the main tournament will be applied.

4.- Line-ups must be announced before the end of the second round (August 23rd). If a team has not announced its line-up, the organisers reserve the right to stablish a default line-up using the ranking list.
